Jim going way back? | Jim News

Jim Sturgess, as well as Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, and Saoirse Ronan are reported being in final negotiations to star in Peter Weir’s The Way Back.

The film will focus on a group of soldiers who engineered a grueling escape from a Siberian gulag in 1942 — walking thousands of kilometers through the Gobi desert and over the Himalayas to India and freedom. Like many stories these days, Slavomir Rawicz’s tale has been challenged, but it’s an interesting story, and true or not, it should make for a compelling film — especially under Weir. Should the negotiations work out — Farrell will be a tough and tattooed Russian, Harris will play an American, Sturgess will play a Polish inmate, and Ronan will be a Russian on the run who joins the fugitives.

This def sounds interesting to me.

Welcoming the new year | Site Updates

News has been seriously lacking. I couldn’t really find anything worth posting (if you got any news please email me or comment, you will be credited of course). This is why, as much as I despise myself for doing this, there are 2 posts in a row lacking any Jim news whatsoever.
*Sigh*
Back to more positive notes. This year I think will be even more exciting than 2008 for all Jim fans. He has so many projects I couldn’t wait to see including Heartless, Crossing Over and Fifty Dead Men Walking. As for this site, hopefully I will overcome my laziness and caps 21 and The Other Boleyn Girl for all of you. I realized I hadn’t updated the gallery for a long long time. I’m still planning the new layout cause I don’t want it to be boring and looks too similar with the previous ones. Okay then, I stop my rambling here.
Oh, and happy new year all! Thanks for visiting, commenting, emailing me, etc. I really appreciate all your contributions and visits. (:

Happy Holiday | Site Updates

I want to wish you all a merry xmas for those who celebrate it, and if you don’t, well, happy holiday!
I hope you have a great day with your family and your loved ones.

Jim Sturgess as Peter Parker Still a Possibility | Jim News

Evan Rachel Wood, who played Lucy in Across The Universe, has been confirmed as Mary Jane Watson on Spiderman’s adaptation to Broadway. On an interview with moviesonline, she mentioned that the team is still trying to convince Jim to play Peter Parker a.k.a. Spiderman. He needs to commit for a year though, which is probably a little bit tough. The show will begin on June 2009.

MoviesOnline: Have you gotten any of the music yet for Spider-Man?

EVAN RACHEL WOOD: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had to do a read through of it for Marvel in person, kind of an audition. So yeah, I’ve heard all the music and it’s so good. It makes me cry.

MoviesOnline: Did you work with Bono and The Edge on the songs themselves?

EVAN RACHEL WOOD: Yeah. They were coming, going “We wrote this song. Sing it.” Jim Sturgess who played Jude in “Across the Universe” did the workshop with me. We’re still trying to convince him to play Spider-Man, but I got to read it with him and he’s such a huge, huge U2 fan. There was one time he was learning the song and Bono and The Edge were playing the other parts so they were basically being his back-up singers and I just remember taking him to the side and going “Bono and The Edge were just your back-up singers. Can you just enjoy this moment right now for me, please? It’s 4th of July. We’re never going to forget this.” You know, it was awesome. It was amazing.

MoviesOnline: When you signed on for Spider-Man, how long of a commitment did you have to give?

EVAN RACHEL WOOD: It’s going to be a year total. But I’ve always wanted to do it and I’m never going to get another opportunity like that – originating a role on Broadway with Julie again and with so many people that worked on “Across the Universe” and that was just the most fun. I mean, “Across the Universe” was 8 months so it’s not that much longer. I can’t wait.

Anyway, haven’t found anything worth posting so far. I’ll keep looking.
Meanwhile if you found any broken links, errors, etc please please please tell me. You can leave comment or email me. Thanks

New Domain and Happy Thanksgiving | Site Updates

Thanks to JSF’s awesome host, StarsZZ, we have a new domain. We are now located on JSturgess.Net.
I picked that name because it’s short enough to memorize and to avoid confusion with other Jim fansite. Anyway, I’ll work hard to keep up with this site. It’s been tough cause I work fulltime and I have 3 other fansites other than this one but I love this site and I’m not ready to give up on JSF. So, stay tuned for more updates!

All affiliates, please update your links. Thanks.

Also..
Happy Thanksgiving to JSF’s visitors. I hope you have great day and spend it with your loved ones. (:
